10 Weeks

'A few babies sleep for five or six hours at a time now; most still wake up in the middle of the night.'
Blame it on a full day out w/ brunch/ shopping and riding in the car....but Pax slept from 10pm-3am and we could not have been more excited!....nervous too, I still got up at 2:30 to check on him to see that he was still breathing, so we welcome 10 weeks and the longer  sleeping hours in the evening!

But wait, hold the phone, later in the week, he slept 8 hours...HOLY CANOLI!....while I'm sure it was a fluke, I still was not able to enjoy it in all it's glory as I had dreams that something was wrong with him and got up multiple times to check on him to be sure he was breathing, etc.    :(
I guess being a nervous mom is par for the course......for the rest of my life.
At this age, babies smile at strangers, and they now grow excited when someone they know well is nearby; they reach out their arms to be picked up.
As your baby's muscles develop, her arm and leg movements are becoming much smoother and more coordinated.
Is that a fact? Babies use 25 percent of the calories they take in for growth.

9 Weeks

No, not 9 1/2 weeks, there are no sexy food feeding shots w/ hot sweaty bodies, etc here.
But there is a cute shot of a plump, 10 lb  6 oz boy, who is in the 25th percentile for weight and at 22 1/2" tall, is in the 30th percentile for height... and a growing head, 15 1/4", not sure if they have a percentile for head girth  :)
He was a champ at the pediatricians office w/ the first round of vaccines.  Rotavirus was oral, so the only injection was our DTP...no sweat and we even went grocery shopping afterwards...he slept the whole time...what a treat!

Later that night was more of a treat for mom, when he slept from 11-4am and from 4:30-8:45.
Since Jay did the 4am feeding....I slept through the night.....whoa, nice!
I think ingesting 4-5 oz of milk helps....more oz=more z'sssssssss

With so much time on my hands this morning I threw a pot roast together in the crock pot, started some homemade BBQ sauce simmering on the stove, ate breakfast and had a spot of tea...holy cow, a girl should be so lucky to have so much free time on her hands!

July Visitors

My sister , Susan and niece, Alyssa came for a visit and we enjoyed renting a pontoon for a tour of our neighborhood lake...they don't call it Lakewood for nothin'   :)

Even Paxton enjoyed his 1st boat ride and slept peacefully for the 2 hour tour, while Alyssa was the only one brave enough to jump in the chilly lake.
Happy to have Chris and Mitzy over for dinner, while they were in town...sadly, no group pic was taken w/ them.....next time.

Bill and Meaghan Rohde came to see us towards the end of July, which was fun, since we got to celebrate Meaghan's 21st bday with her...woo hoo!...margaritas and cake balls for everyone  :)   Sunday brunch  w/ Bellinis and a little shopping at Zona Rosa afterwards made for a fun outing for all.

8 Weeks

Lots of changes at 2 months.  With an increased appetite,  Pax is wolfing down 3-4  oz at a time and looking quite plump...and that head is getting quite large!  Happy to say he  has finally been enjoying sleeping in his own crib/room and the Pack and Play, as opposed to the swing.  I think it is because he likes to stretch out, with  his arms extended over his head .

Caught him in a mellow yellow mood this morning, hanging out w/ my sister in the guest bed.

6 Weeks

'I believe I can fly'.....Peanut Paxton(as he is affectionately called by my Dad and nephew) clearly likes to stretch out, busting outta the swaddle.  He seems to have developed a new voice this week, the whiney cry, seems to have developed a raspy, screechyness to it....guess he's trying out new sounds!

A special thanks to Brie, for helping out w/ the babysitting!!

June Visitors

We were happy to have the grandparents come to visit.  Grandma and Grandpa Silver came out first and stayed through my birthday, allowing Jay and I sushi and sake night, solo, while they watched Pax Man. We also introduced my parents to lunch at 'the club'...our very own country club...the food is actually quite good and so was the service..we were the only ones dining at the time :)

Next out were Grandma and Grandpa Rohde, we enjoyed a day adventure to the downtown farmers market and then on to the Plaza for gelato...which was a short visit since the heat/humidity soared and our little man became quite unhappy.  Later that evening a wonderful dinner at Houlihans and Paxton's very 1st dinner date, out....he was very good and slept the entire dinner.
