5 Weeks and some firsts

Paxton happened on some crabby spells this week which seem to strike around the afternoon(2pm or so) and sort of linger on until early eve hours....exasperating sometimes, but I believe it his way of getting used to the longer wakeful periods, maybe dealing w/overstimulation, coupled w/ not knowing how to settle himself.

Trying out the baby carrier at home, since my barnacle buddy sometimes requires constant holding, during his crabby, unconsolable spells,  figure we both need to get used to our fun contraption so mama can be hands free...how liberating!

Moms first week back to the gym after, oh, about a year ....it's a long road ahead!...baby steps.

4 Weeks Old!

Happenings this week:

•Your baby is learning to communicate by cooing, and he’s starting to make an “ahh” sound when you appear and/or when he’s relaxed(come on Paxton, we've not yet seen this from you son).

•He has known your voice since birth and likes hearing it, even when you’re across the room. In the next two weeks, he’ll start looking around to find you when he hears it.

•This week, babies start to discover what will become some of their best playthings: their fingers and toes.


Paxton's growth stats:  weight 8lbs 3oz, height 20 3/4 and gained a full inch in 'noggin circumference...thats brain power my friend!  :)

He Can Be All 4 Seasons in One Day(or 20 seconds)

PS, sometimes I see glimpses of Benjamin Button and Pope John Paul in our little man, depends on the day and situation, but, slumped over in the car seat, definite glimpses of Pope John Paul(possibly before being wheeled to his Vatican balcony to address the public )

Demonstrating Control Over the Bobblehead

well, I know most moms think their kid is strong/smart beyond their young years...we're partial  :)

however, I am truly amazed at my wonder spawns head lift last week, at only 2 weeks old.  While laying on my chest(a place I think he finds most restful, listening to my heartbeat...womb nostalgia!) he lifted his head to see just what the heck I was doing above him.  This week, week 3 still curious to see what momma is doin' above him, so lifting that sweet bobblehead all on his own....and that can't be easy he does have a sizable noggin!  Well, tummy time, should be no big deal then, if we are already workin' those neck muscles, he will be strong like bull in no time!
